How do you perform «Antigone» in Athens, hometown of the royal drama as well as of democracy, when an innocent fifteen-year-old boy is shot there by the police in broad daylight? In following the ancient tragedy, the Rimini theatre company Motus’ lengthy research explores the relationship between contemporary art and social upheaval. Their journey to Exarchia, the headquarters of resistance in downtown Athens, leads them directly to the centre of a current Greek tragedy, embodied by a Polynices wearing a Sex Pistol T-Shirt. (MB)
