«Does the future get any better if we deal with the past more critically?» In their long-term project, the young Mexican theatre company Lagartijas tiradas al sol (Lizards Lying in the Sun) investigates the history and the effects of the Mexican guerilla movement which was active between 1960 and 1990. What started out as a research blog is now being staged in «El Rumor del Incendio» (The Sound of Fire). The central figure is the former guerillera, historian and teacher Margarita Urias Hermosillo. In a playful yet highly precise way, the trio combines performance, documentary film and photographic material, research and reflexion in a very personal approach to a still burning topic that ultimately looks at the rediscovery of utopia.
